What to consider when adding a beneficiary
If you created a fundraiser campaign to raise money for someone else, you can add the person as a beneficiary easily. This means that they will be able to transfer the funds to their bank account.
Before sending a beneficiary invitation:
It is essential to ensure that the person you are adding as your beneficiary is willing to take the responsibility of bank transfers. The process is pretty simple, but if your beneficiary is not available for some reason, you can still receive the funds on their behalf. If you receive funds on their behalf, add all the details in your fundraiser story to explain this to your donors. Know that, when you add a beneficiary, they will need to be involved with all the bank transfer updates.
Secure transfer of funds:
Adding a beneficiary is the best and fastest way to receive the funds. It builds trust and transparency among donors & by adding the beneficiary, you are permitting them to connect their banking details through their Gohelpme account. You would not have to worry about handling the funds yourself and for security reasons, you need to know your beneficiary personally.
The beneficiary will add their bank information, so funds will not go through your account:
For the beneficiary, setting up bank transfers involves adding personal and bank information and then uploading documents to be assessed and verified by our payment partner. Our team will be there for your support at every step of the way so you can continue with the process.
The beneficiary’s name will show on your fundraiser page:
The fundraiser page will display your name and that you are raising funds on behalf of your beneficiary. If your beneficiary does not want to show their name publicly for safety reasons, then it may be best for you to receive funds on their behalf. They can use a nickname but when it comes to setting up bank transfers, the legal name needs to be used.
Only one beneficiary can be added to a fundraiser:
If there is more than a bank account then funds from the fundraiser campaign will not be received. If the funds are supposed to be divided between more than one recipient, then you should take the funds on their behalf. In addition to this, if you have added a beneficiary and they are no longer able to add their account details, please fill out this form and our team will help you out.
