Account security
You should change your password and contact our team if you notice changes to any of the following in your account:
- Personal information (such as name)
- Bank account used for transfers
- Account password
- A new fundraiser
How to keep your account secure:
Be cautious when sharing personal information:
Gohelpme will never ask for personal information through a fundraiser contact form. If you receive an email claiming to be from someone who contacted you via your campaign but mentions "The message below is NOT from Gohelpme," be cautious! These emails might be phishing attempts to steal your personal information. Don't respond instead, forward the suspicious email directly for our team to investigate.
Report suspicious messages:
If you ever get a message claiming to be from Gohelpme or a Gohelpme employee, but something seems suspicious, don't hesitate to report it. Here's how you can fight back: forward the suspicious email to [email address] for our security team to investigate. You can also report it directly through the "Contact Us" button on our website. We can keep the Gohelpme community safe from impersonation attempts by working together.
Sign in securely:
Only sign into Gohelpme through our official website and always look for the lock symbol in the address bar, showing the site is securely encrypted.
Choose a strong password:
Your password should be:
- Unique to Gohelpme and not used for other websites or apps
- Use a combination of letters (upper and lower-case), numbers, and symbols
